Why does the MyCAA Program exist?

What is MyCAA? If you’re a military spouse, you most likely already know about the G.I. Bill. But do you know about MyCAA? It’s the Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA), an educational grant program for military spouses. It’s a part of the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Spouse Education and Career Opportunities (SECO) program, and it was founded to help military spouses with employment assistance and career development. What does MyCAA do? MyCAA helps military spouses pursue and obtain licenses, certificates,certifications or certain Associate's Degrees necessary for employment in high demand, high growth portable careers and occupations. This means that when you move to a new duty station; you know you’re going to find a job; because you have training and credentials in a high-demand field that is relevant in any community. How exactly does MyCAA help me? Counselors will help military spouses find the right career for you, based on your interests, skills, and prior training. Then they’ll provide assistance with education and training with access to grant money for eligible military spouses. After education, career advisors will help you with resume writing, externships, relocation, and more. They’ll even use existing military resources to help you find a job!
