Externships & Internships
Internships and Externships are a great way for students to gain practical experience in their field and often lead to full-time employment opportunities. Our Career Services department is constantly exploring new opportunities for students to achieve hands on training. Please speak with your Career Counselor for more information on new or current Internships and Externships available in your program.

Allied Health Programs:
We partner with major employers in each student’s local area to provide an externship with hands on experience and training upon completion of the online program. Students will work with an assigned Externship Coordinator upon completion in order to identify and schedule an externship with a local provider. In order to qualify for the externship students must:
- Achieve a 85% grade or better on all course quizzes, module exams and final exam
- Complete a minimum of 140 course hours throughout the e-learning program
- Pass a background check and a drug screen
Participation in the externship is voluntary and students must request participation by contacting their Career Counselor at [email protected].

We partner with many employers in the Medical Transcription field to offer internships to our students who show exceptional aptitude throughout their program.
The JumpStart program is available to Medical Transcription students who meet the following criteria:
- Earn a 90% or higher on their graded reports and exams
- Agree to the terms and conditions outlined in the internship application

Jump Start Instructions After Placement
We have partnered with CVS pharmacy to offer 120 hours of practical experience at retail pharmacies to students who meet CVS employment requirements and state licensing/registration requirements. CVS externships are currently not available in FL, MN, UT, WA, and WY. For more information or to submit an application, please visit our CVS externship page.
Participation in the externship is voluntary and students must request participation by contacting their Career Counselor at [email protected].
Students must achieve an 85% grade or better on all course quizzes, module exams and final exam and complete a course throughout the e-learning program. Additionally, to be eligible for the clinical externship process students must pass a background check and a drug screen to be placed in a pharmacy setting.
Students who participate must be able to submit the following if required by their site.
- Background check (Federal and/or state)
- Drug Screen
- Immunization record (or be able to obtain any immunizations required)
- 2 step TB test
- Flu Shot
- CPR certification
