Program Details

This program is designed to prepare you for the Electronic Health Record Specialist certification (CEHRS) exam in combination with prior healthcare experience and an existing knowledge of medical terminology.

Over the course of 14 comprehensive lessons, you'll learn what kind of information is stored in an electronic health record system, as well as how staff members and patients interact with EHR systems. You'll discover the benefits that EHR systems provide compared to traditional paper records, and we'll discuss what steps are required to implement one in a medical practice.

We'll outline tasks related to the use of EHR systems, including how to manage patient visits, arrange follow-up care, issue prescriptions, report public health information, communicate with patients, and keep track of vital information like allergies and medications.

Throughout the course, you'll get hands-on practice with EHR software and learn what it is like to work as a CEHRS.

We'll also provide materials and guidance to help you prepare for your national certification exam. That includes a study guide, access to practice exams, and a voucher to cover the cost of CEHRS exam registration.

The CEHRS exam is offered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Please note, candidates are required to have a high school diploma or equivalent to be eligible for the CEHRS exam.
