Federal Government Reopening Signals Renewed Momentum for MyCAA Grant Beneficiaries

Time to rejoice! There has been renewed interest in MyCAA government funds and we’re excited to tell you that, here at Meditec, MyCAA grants processing is in full swing once again. So, if you’re one of the MyCAA grant applicants affected by the government shutdown, know that we can help you explore your educational options once again and that we are also open to helping you process your grants (as long you provide us information we can work with). For the uninformed, the US federal government shutdown, which went on for fifteen days (thankfully, its predecessor), happened because the Republican-dominated Congress didn’t want to pass a clean spending bill unless President Obama delays or completely shelve Obamacare (Affordable Care Act). The shutdown has curtailed daily government operations, with thousands of workers furloughed and sent home without a paycheck. According to CNN, about 800,000 workers were impacted by the shutdown. Given the circumstances, the Department of Defense was not exempted from the ill effects of the shutdown (the Department of Defense is the agency responsible for the MyCAA). Fortunately, Obama has signed a bill that will raise the debt ceiling, which in turn, can help prevent another financial crisis from happening. The MyCAA Financing Grant is one of Meditec’s popular financing options. A majority of our students come from the military sector, military spouses in particular, whom we salute to for pursuing the careers they want. Just because they move around a lot, doesn’t mean you should put off building a vibrant career! How can you benefit from Meditec’s MyCAA funding option? How do you qualify? The MyCAA program is targeted at military spouses to help them land portable careers, careers they can further wherever they are in the US. How does it manage to do it? Through the awarding of a $4,000 fund that will allow military spouses to enroll in Associate’s degrees, license degrees and certification programs. These programs include practical, skills-based fields such as the allied healthcare field, legal, business (accounting), real estate, information technology and customer service fields. Remember, however, to have your eligibility assessed first. To give you a bit of background, the MyCAA program is applicable only to spouses of military service and reserve members (on active duty) from pay grades E1-E5, W1-W2 and O1-O2. The said pay rank restrictions have been imposed in 2010 to make sure that more beneficiaries who need the financing option are getting approved. Once you qualify for the MyCAA, you can use your grant on our wide variety of courses in the above fields. Our courses are already MyCAA-approved so we already got you covered in the course department. Just remember that, when taking our courses, you have to finish the course program you chose within three years of starting it. Note, too, that the MyCAA processing/approval duration may take 15 days at best. If there are some things that you don’t understand with regards to the MyCAA program, call us at 877-335-4072.
