Summer is a great time to get your kids (from toddlers to teenagers) active and having fun. We know how important it is to keep your kids entertained in positive ways during their free time. We put together a small list of positive activities that you and your children can enjoy together!
Summer Activities at Home
- Build a kite – Teaching your children how to build a kite can be a great bonding experience and one that keeps them engaged both mentally and physically. Besides, it’s impossible to look unhappy while flying a kite.
- Make a time capsule – Build a time capsule with your kids and then bury it somewhere easy to find. Dig it up next summer, or ten summers from now, for a blast from the past.
- Make a kaleidoscope – Spend a day at the crafts store and then work on building your own kaleidoscope together. Your kid will feel like a genius when the finished product is on their hands.
- Make a bird feeder– Using recycled milk cartons, you can construct something simple and effective. A bonus will be all the gorgeous birds that flock to your yard. Teach them the differences between the birds for an educational spin on the activity.
Head to Summer Camp
Now don’t let the movies fool you into thinking you know what summer camps are really like. They aren’t crazy unsupervised places for kids to get in trouble. In fact, there are plenty of different camps, and summer camp activities, for kids that are both educational and entertaining. From sports camps, where the kids focus on fitness and competition, to science camps, where kids focus on learning, there is something for everyone.
