Microsoft Excel 2010, Level 1: 25 Hours

This course will provide an overview and introduction to Microsoft Excel 2010. You will learn basic concepts and techniques for working with Microsoft Excel’s most commonly used features and functions. This course provides many opportunities to practice these techniques.

Microsoft Excel 2010, Level 2: 25 Hours

This course will cover intermediate to advanced level concepts and features of Microsoft Excel 2010, and you will build upon the skills learned in the Microsoft Excel 2010 Level 1 course. Throughout the course, you will be given ample opportunity to explore and practice the techniques covered.

Microsoft Excel 2010, Level 3: 25 Hours

Microsoft Excel is a feature-rich application that helps you to store, maintain, and perform calculations on financial, statistical, and other data. This course will build on the skills learned in the Microsoft Excel 2010 Level 1 and Level 2 courses. You will learn advanced level concepts and features, and you will have opportunities practice these techniques throughout the course.

Principles of Accounting I: 25 Hours

This course examines the principles of financial accounting. The steps in the accounting cycle, the preparation of financial statements for corporations, and the handling of financial data for service and merchandising firms will be covered.

Principles of Accounting II: 25 Hours

A continuation of Accounting I. The recording, classification, and analysis of economic transactions of the corporation are the focus of the course. The student will analyze transactions, use journals and ledgers, prepare financial statements, and summarize results at the close of the fiscal period. The students will be introduced to decision making and financial analysis.

Course Material

Textbook, Bookkeeping Made Simple and the QuickBooks 2015 software CD(PC) will be shipped to the user.

If you use a Mac, you must purchase the Mac version of the software, although some of the screen shots within the tutorial may differ.

The program functions best with high-speed Internet. You need access to Microsoft Word and Excel to complete the assignments. This program is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and more recent operating systems and functions best Internet Explorer 7 and higher.

We highly recommend that you use the latest version of Chrome and Firefox in place of other web browsers.


This program is designed to prepare you for an entry-level position as a full-charge bookkeeper. You do not need any prior experience or training in this field. You need an Internet connection, e-mail capabilities, and familiarity with using the Internet. You’ll need to install the QuickBooks 2015 software, provided with this course. This software is provided on a CD, so your PC must have a CD Rom to install the software.

Her firm also launched Heart2Heart Services, which focuses on the needs and concerns of nonprofit organizations. Marlissa provides training for clients as well as accounting professionals. She graduated from the University of West Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance and received an MBA in accounting from DePaul University. She is a member of the Intuit Accounting Professionals Trainer Network and is an instructor for

Wade Lindenberger is a CPA with over 20 years of financial accounting and management experience in public accounting and private industry. He is currently Director of Finance and Administration for New Children’s Museum. Before his current position, he worked as the National Finance and Accounting Service Line Leader for Premier Alliance Group, a national professional services firm. Wade was also Director of the Finance and Accounting service line for the San Diego office of a global, publicly held professional services firm. Before becoming a consultant, Wade was Divisional Controller for one of the leading health and fitness club chains in the world. He has also been Internal Audit Manager and Divisional Controller for a division of a Fortune 500 global energy project management company. He began his career with Coopers & Lybrand, predecessor to PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the “Big Four” CPA firms. Wade is the creator of the Certified Bookkeeper and Professional Bookkeeping with QuickBooks 2012 courses as well as a facilitator. He has previously served as an instructor for courses at Coopers & Lybrand and at the University of California at San Diego for the Extension Program and is currently an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego School of Business. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Bookkeepers’ Advisory Board.
