Meditech and Meditec.Com's Professional Edge Online Training Programs and Printed Home Study Materials are Registered under the Utah Postsecondary Proprietary School Act (Title 13, Chapter 34, Utah Code). Registration under the Utah Postsecondary School Act does not mean that the State of Utah supervises, recommends, nor accredits an institution. It is the individual's responsibility to determine whether credits, degrees or certificate granted by any institution will transfer to another. This may be done by calling the prospective school.

Meditec's programs have not been accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education.

College Degrees: Colleges and universities retain the right to confer traditional “degrees,” and can and do accept or transfer credits from or to their sister schools.

Associate Degrees: Vocational and technical schools (which may have some mixes of programs in a physical school with on-line courses) award an "associate degree" when a given program is completed. These associate degrees and their "credits or credit hours" are generally not transferable to any other vocational school and are not accepted by traditional colleges or universities. The only “accreditation” that exists for such schools, e.g., distance education, home study, Internet learning is done by a privately held company known as “Distance Education and Training Counsel.” They “accredit” (allow a school to provide an “associate degree”).

Employers in the health care arena look for people who have completed VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMS and have certificates demonstrating their capability - competency-based training. With successful completion of any Meditec Program, (by virtue of a final examination), and an acceptable achievement score, a Certificate of Completion is issued. This certificate denotes that the candidate has completed a course of certain hours, and is prepared to practice and work in the field in which s/he trained.
