The Medical Terminology (eBook Only Course) is designed for those with may have some medical office training, but who need (or want) to add medical terminology, or for those who just need a refresher. This course includes everything you need to learn and understand the basic language of medicine. Medical Terminology is included with many of our other more indepth courses, but if all you need is terminology, here's a great opportunity to order just what you need.
This is a great course for beginners, those with a little experience, and everyone in between! The course takes about 4 to 6 weeks working a few hours a day. Meditec's platform learning system is designed to teach very complex material in the easiest way possible. You just cannot memorize all of the words and their meanings, so you have to learn how words are formed first.
- Each chapter guides you through the way medical words are formed and the influence of Latin, Greek and other languages
- You learn the fundamentals of vocabulary building, learning how the words are divided with their components: prefix, root and suffix. Once you understand how that works, all word meanings are much easier to understand (and find in a medical dictionary)
- You then will see the words used in actual medical report context (reinforcing memory)
