Program Course Description:

The Legal Secretary program is designed to prepare individuals for employment as a legal secretary. Program graduates will be employable by law firms, attorneys, and other businesses requiring legal services. The program teaches students fundamentals of the profession, including American Law, court systems, litigation, law specialties, and how to build their own Cybrary.

Upon completion of the Legal Secretary program, graduates can perform interview (interrogations), legal writing, and use citations for legal documents.

Office Procedures Level 1: 30 hours

This course teaches introductory office procedures and practices to the novice office worker. It consists of six Lessons and a Final Exam. Each Lesson is divided into Sections with related Tasks. There are questions at the end of each Lesson designed to reinforce the concepts the student has learned in the Lesson.

Instructor Bio

Ana McNatt, PLS, CMT

For over 30 years, Ana has built a career in both the legal and medical fields. She has worked in the legal field for 15 years – from receptionist to paralegal and then a judicial assistant for the San Diego County Superior Court. She also spent 20 years in the medical field, starting as a nursing school student, then a clinical historian. Currently, she is a Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT) and has worked as a medical transcriptionist for 13 years.

An experienced instructor, she finds tremendous satisfaction in helping students be successful in their desired career path. Born in Arizona, Ana currently resides in San Diego with her husband and is the proud mother of 4 children.

Renae has a B.B.A in Finance and plans to return to school to obtain her masters. Renae has held various positions throughout her career, from an In-House Trainer for a Home Health company to a Compliance Analyst.
