Is Medical Transcription Right For Me?
Medical transcription is a highly specialized skill, which requires a high degree of training and dedication. However, unlike becoming a doctor or lawyer, medical transcription does not require an advanced college degree, nor does it require an enormous investment of capital to get started.
Meditec.com has more than 35 years of experience in the medical transcription business -- we know how to train you, and we know how to help you achieve your goals -- but wanting a new career and getting one, is not always as easy as it sounds. If you are an accountant and you want to become a doctor, you're going to have to go back to college. Similarly, if you are unhappy in your current career and you want to change, you will probably need to study for your new line of work.
So, is medical transcription right for you? Well, lets look at the basic requirements:
- You need a fairly good command of the language (in order to understand the person who is doing the dictation).
- You will need to know how to type.
- You will need a computer, but it does not have to be the latest and greatest technology. A good computer (adequate to do the job) can be acquired for as little as $500 (sometimes even less), and you will need a basic word processing software package, like Microsoft Word, or WordPerfect
- You will need training - which is where Meditec.com comes in....
- You will need dedication. Like anything worth having, a new career path requires you to study and practice your new skills.
- Above all, you need to have a desire to improve your life.
And how long does it take? We knew you'd ask that question -- so Read On....
