Welcome to Meditec.com and thank you for taking a few minutes to review the general information about our courses, and to absorb a bit of our philosophy on education.
First of all, we want all of our website visitors and prospective students to know that Meditec.com is not a diploma mill. If you've come to this website looking for a "rubber-stamp," where you pay your fee and we just hand you a certificate, then you've come to the wrong place.
If you choose to enroll in one of our courses, you are not going to be guaranteed a passing grade, nor a certificate, nor a refund if you quit or fail, or for that matter, a job at the end of the course, even if you score a perfect A+ on your final exam. As with any school or traditional course of study, you have to do the work, and you have to pass the course, or you will not receive the diploma, the degree, the certification, or the knowledge you need to succeed.
And once you have the knowledge, the certification, or the skills in hand, it is still up to you to get out there and find a job, and to put the knowledge and skills you've gained to good use. Here at Meditec.com, we will provide you with access to our many years of industry experience and to the material knowledge. We will offer you options for internships where available*, and provide you with access to our ever-expanding online knowledge base, but in the end, we cannot do it for you; you will have to do the work, and you will only succeed by your own efforts.
At Meditec.com, we believe that education is the most fundamental requirement for success in life. Education matters, and whether you choose a traditional brick and mortar school, or choose to enroll in one of our online courses, or to purchase one of our CD-ROM courses, you will have to be committed to learning, and will have to work hard to achive a passing grade. And our philosophy about education extends to life in general. You get as much out of it, as you're willing to put into it. If you have desire to learn, to improve yourself, to work hard, then whether your pass or fail, you will still be a better person for having undertaken the trial.
And remember too, that there are many thousands of Ivy League students out there, who've spent many years and many tens of thousands of dollars to obtain degrees, and who may still be waiting tables because they cannot find a job in their chosen fields. At Meditec.com, we believe that if you are not succeeding in your current career, or you are looking for a new career opportunity, our training programs will help open some new doors of opporunity.
The medical services industry is continuing to grow -- don't believe us? Check with the Labor Department or the Bureau of Labor Statistics -- and as our population contiunes to age, and as we live longer, the need for additional staffing in this industry is virtually recession proof. You may not become a millionaire over night by working as a professional medical transcriptionist, but there is always work to be found in that field, it pays well, and most transcriptionists are able to work from home and therefore avoid the expense of a daily commute, not to mention the ever-increasing cost of the fuel needed to get there.
If you enroll in one of our courses, you will be provided with educational materials authored by individuals with more than 50 years of combined experience in the medical services industry. Those materials are comprehensive and many years have gone into their production and into developing a presentation style and methodology which is specifically geared towards self-paced learning. We have enrolled students who have completed their entire course in less than 90 days, while others have required more than a year, but we believe that the knowledge you gain from the educational process, is more important than how fast you can get through the course.
We understand that many of our students are already working, have children to take care of at home, or have other constraints on their time, so we do not follow the traditional "brick and mortar school" approach to learning. For those individuals with the desire, willingness, and discipline to take control of their own destiny, we believe that a program of self-study is by far the best way to achive new knowledge and skills. It is the end result which matters most, so while the average student should be able to complete any of our courses within 6 months, we provide a minimum of 1 year for most of our courses, and we offer the option** of extending that time frame for those who may need it.
