TCLEMENT
hello. I have a question about a sentence in my practice transcription keys. The sentence is: There are multiple, ill-defined, and confluent plura/pleural contusions over the surfaces of both lungs. After I had transcribed this sentence using "pleural", I checked the answer key to make sure I had spelled "confluent" correctly, but infact, according to the answer key I had spelled "pleural" wrong. It was in the answer key as "plural". Is that correct? (I did spell confluent correct).

Pleural is correct; pleura is the serous membrane related to the lungs and pluri- in Latin means many (in English grammar, plural means more than one, woman's plural is women). What report is that in? It is definitely incorrect. A good example, by the way, is the probability that word when spelled as "plural" would be ignored by many spellcheckers.
